Riemann P20 Once A Day 10 Hour Protection Review
Do you remember when I started this blog I wrote a post about the Calypso Once a day sunscreen.
I tried this out the other week when I sat in the park for 4 hours in the baking sun. No burnt bits what-so-ever (except where I forgot to apply the P20!!!!!) Was very impressed. And I'm quite weird about having creams and things on my hands, I always need to wash them after applying anything. I applied this while at the park and it didn't bother me at all. No residue is left after applying. It dries really quickly on the skin. Doesn't leave any stickiness on the skin like other suncream usually do, and doesn't smell overwhelming either. I don't like a great deal of perfume in anything really.
It was good stuff and served me well on my holiday to Mallorca last September. Well, as you may already know it has been rather warm in England recently, so I needed to purchase something to protect my body from those rays. I thought about how much I enjoyed using the Calypso Once a day before and decided to treat myself to a bottle of P20.
Or for it's full name the Riemann P20 Once A Day 10 Hour Protection SPF20.

Please excuse the fluff! |
I went for the original liquid as find you actually cover yourself more thoroughly with this than with the spray and wanted SPF 20 which only comes in this form.
I looked for the best place to buy it and got mine for £10.63 for 100ml from Superdrug as they had it on offer and had the best price on the market at the time. Which is pretty good I think as we all know suncream is expensive.
Here's what they say about their product:
P20's unique formula is non-greasy and fragrance free to provide the ultimate coverage, both in and out of the water, for up to 10 hours a day.
10 HOURS SUN PROTECTION
P20 is designed to ensure that one application a day is sufficient, keeping the time spent applying and re-applying sun protection to an absolute minimum. P20 is proven to work for up to 10 hours due to a very stable formulation.SUPERIOR WATER RESISTANCE
P20 is proven to remain effective in the water. Even after frequent swimming throughout the day P20 retains the same protection category as before entering the water which is unique for a sun protection product. In fact, P20 has been categorised as "Very Water Resistant", the highest classification available.UVA AND UVB PROTECTION
P20 offers broad spectrum photostable UV protection covering both UVA and UVB rays and retains its effectiveness even after and during exposure to the sun. P20 is proven to work for up to 10 hours in the sun.EASE OF USE
P20's lightweight consistency ensures an even coverage. Once a day application means a little goes a long way, making P20 more economical than other sun care products that need to be re-applied regularly during the day. P20 is absorbed rapidly leaving a non-greasy skin, so there are none of the messy white streaks common with cream-based products.

So. How does this compare to the Calypso Once a day? Well, the calypso smells a lot more alcoholic in my opinion. Almost overwhelming when you are rubbing it in. Both have a clear gel like consistency, although the P20 definitely has a yellow tint to it. Both are quickly absorbed and don't cause your skin to roll. Gross. I've found that both of these products give excellent sun protection and last for the whole day, even with swimming, sweating etc which is rather impressive. To be honest the Calypso is sooooooooo much cheaper that I'm not sure if the P20 is really worth the money.
Would I repurchase?: Yes, even though this is expensive I actually think it is worth it. But if I see the Calypso for sale anywhere (Asda have stopped selling it!) I would pick up a bottle for sure. Home Bargains have this at the moment for £3.29!!!
