REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser Review

A photo of REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser

You might not be able to tell from the photo above, but this is a huge hunk of a cleanser. The REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser 150ml (£16.20) was recommended by Caroline Hirons on her blog. She gave it a glowing review and I was in the market for a new cleanser so why not...

The REN ClearCalm 3 Clarifying Clay Cleanser is a thick, greeny creamy (ha) cleanser. I bought this as it was suggested online that it was good for blemish prone skin, which mine most definitely is.

I have been using this at night after my Emma Hardie balm cleanser/Liz Earle as my second cleanse.

First impressions are that it has a very strong clay smell, but then again, it does contain clay! It has a very creamy texture that glides over this skin, so you can really give your face a good massage. The smell. Well, the first couple of times I used this cleanser it reminded me of when we used to have a hamster. Strange I know. But then I quickly realised that it smelt like Fudge's food. So rather herbally. It's not an unpleasant scent. It's just herbally.

From a previous post here, you will know that my brothers skin isn't amazing at the moment, and I've made it my mission to improve it with good skincare. So I let him use this Ren cleanser the other night. His skin is usually red and angry with lots of lumpy spot and blackheads (I'm painting a nice picture ey!) Well the day after using this cleanser, his face was just so much calmer. Not at all red, and the spots seemed to be going down. His face looked half normal. I think this product is great for anyone with skin that needs calming.

After using this for a few weeks, I can definitely say it is a new favourite of mine. It really calms your face and leaves it feeling clean and fresh, but not tight or like it has been stripped. A winner in my opinion.

Would I repurchase this? Yes
